On the draw of November 9th 2016, one lucky ticket holder from Dairy Flat north of Auckland won what is still considered the largest prize won by a single ticket holder. This draw also holds the record for the largest number of tickets sold in a single New Zealand Powerball draw.

On the draw of November 22nd 2017, two lucky ticket holders split the second-largest jackpot ever won in New Zealand lottery history - $38 million. One of the tickets was bought at Fresh Choice supermarket in Greytown, while the other was sold at the New World store in Warkworth. The ticket holders received a whopping $19 million each.

On the draw of June 24th 2009, the Powerball jackpot of $36 million was won by a syndicate of four family members. They called themselves ‘Irish Luck’, which sounds just about right as they managed to win both the First Division and Second Division prizes.

On the draw of April 9th 2011, two lucky winners split the Powerball jackpot of $35.2 million, receiving $17.6 million each. The winning tickets were purchased in Dannevirke and Hamilton.

On the draw of September 28th 2013, there was no First Division jackpot winner, but there was a lucky Second Division winner. According to the rules, if the Powerball jackpot exceeds $30 million and there is no First Division winner, the funds roll down to the next winning prize tier.
